Following the successful organization of Dr. Borlaugs Centennial in Iran, Dr. Kenneth Quinn, The President of the World Food Prize who attended this event with his wife, on his return to WFP, officially invited one wheat breeder and two Iranian students as well as their two teachers to attend the Borlaug Dialogue International Symposium which will take place October 15 to 17 as part of the World Food Prize annual series of event in Des Moines in Iowa.
Dr. Quinn first offered this invitation during his keynote speech in Iran on August 26 and when he returned to his office in Iowa he sent two official letters to Mr. Mahmoud Hojjati Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Dr. Behzad Ghareyazie, Director General of the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran as the organizer of the event in Iran requesting them to nominate eligible candidates for this trip to WFP in US. In a positive manner Iran has nominated Dr. Godarz Najafian, Director General of the Seed and Plant Improvement Institute as the wheat Breeder for this trip. Dr. Quinn immediately sent an official invitation letter to Dr. Najafian to attend the event as a featured speaker on a panel about wheat and wheat rust disease. The process for selecting two eligible students and two teachers for this trip has already started with a public announcement on the websites of the Agricultural Scientific associations and academia. 
The woven carpet presented to Dr. Quinn as a gift in honor of Dr. Borlaug to the World Food Prize commemorating the event will be displayed in the Hall of Laureates of the WFP building.
During this ceremony and on October 16th, on the occasion of the UN World Food Day, the 250,000$ USD 2014 World Food Prize will be awarded to Dr. Sanjaya Rajaram.
