Global Roundtable to Discuss Access to Information and Public Participation on GMOs
A global roundtable on access to information, public participation, and access to justice regarding living/genetically modified organisms (LMOs/GMOs) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland on October 16-17, 2013. The roundtable is a joint event on the Aarhus Convention and the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
A global roundtable on access to information, public participation, and access to justice regarding living/genetically modified organisms (LMOs/GMOs) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland on October 16-17, 2013. The roundtable is a joint event on the Aarhus Convention and the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
Aside from the key issues on access to information and public participation, participants will also have the opportunity to hear expert presentations, and share their own experiences and lessons learned regarding obstacles and challenges encountered in the implementation of the Aarhus Conventions Almaty Amendment on GMOs, the Lucca Guidelines on GMOs, and Article 23 of the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety; opportunities for cooperation and capacity building; and priorities for future work.
