International Workshop on Biotechnology for Economic Development Islamabad, Pakistan, 16 – 18 February, 2011.

An international workshop on Biotechnology for economic development will begin tomorrow in Islamabad, Pakistan. This workshop will hold on for three days. Dr.Kauser Abdulla Malik is the focal person of this workshop. The whole program organized by OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH).

Dr.Behzad Ghareyazie, executive director of Iran Biotechnology Information Center (IRBIC) will be one of the presenters in this workshop. His lecture in first day (16 February) will be on these lines:   Main Food and Feed Challenges, GM Crops and Biosafety Status in this Region.
In the second day: Comparison between Traditional Breeding and Genetic Engineering from the Safety Point of View.
