Deputy Minister of Health for Research and Technology announced the production of Iranian influenza vaccine.
Dr. Mostafa Ghanei mentioned that this vaccine observes all international standards, and by exporting this vaccine we will make a great jump.
He added that the production line (which is producing vaccine right now) will be inaugurated in early November by Dr. Vahid Dastjerdi (Minister of Health) and Dr. Soltankhah (Deputy President for Science and Technology).
He also added: “with reference to food and drug administration’s regulations, produced vaccines should be stored for 6 months for evaluation of its safety and by then, will be released in Iran’s market.
He indicates that upon prior promises, this vaccine produced on-time but due to food and drug administration’s regulations we had to wait for the public and commercial release. This vaccine is similar to the imported one and we have a plan to export it.
Regarding vaccine’s price, he said that each vial is about 120000 to 150000 Rials but in case of having proper budget, Iranian vaccine will be 10-15% cheaper than the imported one.
